If you're on the search for an elopement location thats mobile friendly with east access and with beautiful views, you've come to the right place. Here I'm going to dive deep into 5 of my favorite New England mountains you can DRIVE UP for your elopement!

TOP 5 MOUNTAINS YOU CAN ACCESS VIA AUTO-ROAD:

  • Mount Equinox - Arlington, VT Takes you up to the top of the highest peak in the Taconic Range! Memorial Day Weekend to October 31st - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily Memorial Day Weekend through September 30th Car & Driver – $25 Additional passenger – $5 each Children under 10 years old – Free

  • Cadillac Mountain - Acadia National Park, ME Cadillac Mountain is a popular location for couples visiting Acadia National Park. The mountain is one of three mountains you can drive up. It is the highest point on the eastern seaboard of the U.S and offers the first place to see the sunrise in the US which makes it so popular!

  • Mount Mansfield - Stowe, VT Mount Mansfield is the highest peak in Vermont and is part of the Green Mountains range. It's a popular elopement location for adventurous couples and is one of the few mountains in Vermont you can drive up. Head out on the Stowe auto-toll road and take a 30 minute drive up to the top where the road turns from pavement to dirt. Once at the top you'll find a parking lot and a trail that leads to the summit. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to see beautiful 360 views.

  • Mount Greylock - Adams, MA The highest peak in Massachusetts is in the Berkshires region of western Massachusetts, Mount Greylock is known for its gorgeous views especially in the Fall. This mountain is ideal for couples who are looking to take in some amazing Massachusetts scenery. For a short hike, head up the Mount Greylock overlook trail

For a longer hike, take the Gould trail to Mount Greylock summit

HOW LONG DOES IT NORMALLY TAKE TO DRIVE UP ACCESS ROADS?

It usually takes at minimum, 30 minutes to drive up a mountain. It may seem like a long time but compared to hiking for 2-3 hours, it's worth it!

WHY DRIVING UP A MOUNTAIN FOR YOUR ELOPEMENT CEREMONY IS THE BEST OPTION

While the idea of hiking to a mountain summit can be adventurous, driving up will allow you to access stunning locations without the physical energy or logistical challenges that hiking might entail. This accessibility makes it easier for couples to bring along family and friends who may not be able to hike.
